Proposed Revisions to Edna Brewer Middle School PTSA Bylaws

August 2019

 

  • Dues – $5.00/member ($2.25 to National, $2.00 to CA, $.50 to Peralta, $0.25 to EB)
  • Executive Board
    • President, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, Historian and Parliamentarian
    • 5 Vice Presidents
      • VP Communications
      • VP Parent/Community Engagement
      • VP Programs & Events
      • VP Fundraising
      • VP Panther Pride
    • Exec board can approve expenditure of up to $750 between general PTSA mtgs (no change)
    • Signature authority: President, treasurer, VP Fundraising (can add one more if desired)
  • Officer Elections
    • Nominating Committee – 3 members, 2 alternates
    • Nominating Committee members approved at January general PTSA mtg
    • Elections take place at April general PTSA mtg
    • Officers assume duties in July
  • Quorum (mandated based on number of officers, etc.)
    • General PTA meetings: 15
    • Executive Board: 7
  • Meeting Dates
    • General PTA: 1st Tuesday (will vary) – September, January, April
    • Executive Board: 3rd Tuesday of each month
  • Standing Committees (same as VPs)
